The University of Texas at El Paso annually celebrates its incoming and returning first-generation students with First-Gen Welcome—an event held during National First-Gen Week in November. This gathering provides first-year and new transfer students with the opportunity to connect with their peers, familiarize themselves with campus resources, and engage in UTEP culture and traditions. I joined the team with the responsibility of developing the program's identity and promoting the activities to UTEP students, faculty, staff, and families.
Additionally, I was tasked with designing and curating a museum gallery exhibit that showcased the achievements and contributions of first-gen students, faculty, and staff.
